Pumpkins
Pumpkins and squash must be gathered before frost. Place the fruits in a sunny spot, no two touching, avoid bruising at all times. Cover with canvas, blankets or burlap in cold weather. When the shells become hard -in two or three weeks- remove to warm, dry quarters; for instance near the heater in a dry cellar. So handled they should keep till mid-winter or later. Never store in a damp or a cold place or they will quickly decay.Copyright Information: Gardening Short Cuts
